Just give it a little tug.
For over six decades, Stantitsly has delivered dependable towing solutions to harbors, canals, and industrial waterways across the temperate Northern Hemisphere. Quietly relentless. Steadily professional.
Founded in 1959 by Norwegian-American maritime engineer Olaf Stantitsly.
Olaf believed that any problem—no matter how stubborn—could be solved with the right vessel and a firm, steady application of force. He started with a single tugboat on Lake Michigan, a stubborn disposition, and a profound respect for the word “enough.”
Today, Stantitsly Tugboats operates a modern fleet of twelve vessels across three continents, serving ports, construction firms, and municipal harbors with quiet, relentless dependability. We have never capsized a vessel. We have never lost a towline. We have, on three separate occasions, towed a vessel that was actively trying not to be towed.
Three models. Countless applications. One philosophy: just give it a little tug.
Compact, agile, and surprisingly strong—like a bouncer in a dinghy.
Built for open water and heavy loads. The DeepPull 400 doesn’t complain; it just pulls.
When ordinary tugs politely decline, the MegaTug XL glares at the problem and asks “where to?”
Four reasons our competitors wish they’d thought of it first.
Every vessel is equipped with our proprietary TugForce™ drivetrain, calibrated in our Oslo research facility for maximum sustained pull. It’s not just a name—it’s a force rating.
99.97% mission readiness rate across the entire fleet. When we say we’ll be there, we show up. Usually early. Sometimes whistling.
Our captains average 22 years of experience and are trained to maintain cheerful professionalism in all conditions—even when the client is not cheerful and the conditions are not professional.
Docking, maintenance, and emergency towing support available in 37 ports worldwide. If you can reach water, we can reach you.
Engineering data for those who appreciate that sort of thing.

Unsolicited praise from satisfied mariners.
“We called Stantitsly at 2 AM with a cargo ship stuck sideways in the channel. They had a tug there in twenty minutes. Handled it like it was nothing.”
“The MegaTug XL pulled a semi-submersible drill rig through a typhoon swell. I’ve never seen a vessel work that hard without making a sound.”
“We’ve been using Stantitsly tugs for twelve years. They’re boringly reliable, which in this business is the highest compliment.”
Stantitsly Tugboats are designed for professional maritime use only. Operators must complete an authorized training program. Do not attempt to tug any vessel larger than your own emotional capacity. Always wear a high-visibility vest when standing near something that might suddenly move.
Side effects of prolonged exposure to Stantitsly tugboats may include: an irrational attachment to diesel engines, a tendency to refer to ropes as “lines,” and an uncontrollable urge to say “she’s got plenty of grunt.” Stantitsly is not responsible for tug-related euphoria.
